CoE Group has strengthened its electrical and automation services with the appointment of Esa Kivioja, who started as Regional Director in Tampere in March. With more than 25 years of experience in the technology sector, business development, and consulting, he brings valuable expertise to CoE Group’s growing organization.
Extensive Experience in Technology and Business Development
Esa holds a degree in Telecommunications Engineering and a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Management.
Since 2019, he has worked in supervisory roles and held responsibility for business operations, combining technical expertise with customer understanding and a strong sales-oriented perspective.
A Versatile Role in a Growing Organization
At CoE Group, Esa works as Regional Director for Electrical and Automation Services in Tampere. His role combines sales, people management, recruitment, and the development of business operations and day-to-day activities.
In practice, this means close cooperation with both his own team and customers, from recruitment and business development to supporting customer projects.
In addition, Esa is a member of CoE Group’s operational management team, contributing to the development and growth of the company.
Joining a Growth Phase and Familiar Colleagues
The decision to move to CoE Group was primarily influenced by the people.
“Familiar and pleasant colleagues were certainly the most important reason. In addition, the opportunity to jump into the strong growth phase of a smaller company was appealing,” Esa says.
His first impression of the company has been positive.

According to him, a supervisor’s role is to be present, approachable, and cooperative even in challenging situations.
“People must be able to trust their supervisor.”
In customer work, people-oriented approach is reflected in openness and transparency, and in acknowledging the people behind the work.

Esa emphasizes the importance of open interaction.
“Good cooperation is based on open and fair practices, with active communication. Trust in one another is the foundation of everything.”
According to him, a well-functioning team is built on a safe discussion culture where there is room for different perspectives.
“In a good team, people know how to celebrate successes together and, when needed, also help one another.”

Esa believes that development is best achieved together.
“It’s good to gather ideas and thoughts from the entire organization. By involving employees in ideation, you also build people-centricity.”
In his new role, he especially looks forward to the opportunity to learn new things, develop operations, and be involved in growing the business.

In his free time, Esa spends time at the gym, fishing, and working on various construction and repair projects.
