Kaj Palmroth is CoE Group’s new Business Unit Director for Mechanical Engineering – Heikki Siukkola to step down 31.12.

Kaj Palmroth has been appointed CoE Group’s Business Unit Director for mechanical engineering. Current director Heikki Siukkola, founder of Anteplan, the company acquired by CoE Group in 2022, will step down from his position at year-end, according to a mutual agreement. Palmroth will start with the company 2.9., working alongside Siukkola. Palmroth will take the lead of the business unit in November, after which Siukkola will continue in the role of advisor until 31.12.2024. The transition period ensures a smooth adjustment for both clients and staff.

Palmorth transitions to CoE Group from Etteplan, where his 10-year career began in the role of Senior Engineer in a product development unit and progressed through the roles of Team Leader and Department Manager to Area Manager. As Area Manager, Palmroth was responsible for managing and developing the business activities of several business areas. Before that, Palmroth, who has graduated as Product Development Engineer majoring in Mechanical Engineering, worked as Mechanical Engineer at Comatec.

People-Centeredness as a Strength

Palmroth, who has gathered extensive engineering experience over the years, feels most at home in supervisory roles. As a leader, the smiling and talkative Palmroth is positive and modern.

“Working with people is my strength, which is why I have found myself in supervisory roles throughout my career. I always approach things and people with positivity. I believe that positivity fosters good.”

According to Palmroth, the starting point for working at CoE Group will be gaining the trust of the staff and familiarizing himself with the ways of working within the company. Long-term growth goals will be pursued in a way that maintains work well-being and a positive atmosphere. Gaining trust and familiarity with operations are also the foundation for client work. Palmroth approaches client work on a practical level: actively, thoroughly and curiously, digging deeper into clients’ business and needs.

Diverse Role, Influence Opportunities and Company Values

Palmroth’s diverse role includes supervisory duties, sales, close customer collaboration and talent acquisition. Palmroth finds it crucial to be comprehensively involved in the company’s operations: Hämeenlinna, his hometown, has good transport connections to CoE Group’s different locations. Palmroth will familiarize himself with the collaboration and its development opportunities between the different offices. The Tampere office will serve as his home office.

Palmroth was drawn to CoE Group due to the diversity of the role and the influence opportunities provided by the flexible organization. Additionally, he had heard positive feedback on CoE Group’s operational models and work community. The decision was reinforced when Palmroth learned the company’s values aligned with his own.

“People-orientation, reliability, openness, courage and open-mindedness – all values that resonate with my own. I am eagerly looking forward to getting to know the clients and staff and starting work guided by our shared values.”
